Our new Race 570 uses PTT over Cellular (PoC) technology to give licence-free race communications over short or long range in the UK, Europe, or worldwide*. It is ideal for circuit use as well as long-range applications. The system uses the data capability of 4G & 5G mobile phone networks to transmit voice communications.

PTT over Cellular sends each individual call as a small data package, so data is only used when you talk. This eliminates the need for a constant phone connection during use, as found on other mobile phone-based systems.

The system uses DATA only and utilizes our multi-network SIMs that give data connectivity across the UK and Europe. Our SIMs also roam between the main 3 networks in the UK and 88 different networks in Europe. If you travel outside Europe, we can provide worldwide connectivity by adding a suitable SIM card into the device's second SIM card slot.

Range is only limited by the availability of a suitable mobile network, so units can be hundreds or even thousands of kilometres apart. No radio licence is needed, making it ideal for use abroad in Europe or worldwide (with a suitable SIM). The system can also be used in locations where traditional radio use is restricted.

Expansion for Larger Team Systems

PoC radios used with our subscription service can be configured for multiple cars and multiple crew applications. The online control panel allows us to create multiple channels and user groups. It is possible to restrict cars so they only talk to a single engineer or multiple engineers in the pits.

The addition of the PC-based dispatcher console allows one or more pit-based engineers to control multiple cars. Calls from multiple cars are stacked, so the next available engineer can accept the next call in the queue. All calls are logged and recorded for playback at any time.

Remote Use

As the system is network-based, there is no restriction on where it can be accessed. Users can log into the system using compatible devices from anywhere with cellular coverage or an internet connection. This means a team manager, engineer, or support supplier can talk directly with the team or car from anywhere in the world.

Limitations of Use

• Network dependence: The system is totally dependent on network coverage in the area of use; reliable 4G or 5G coverage is essential.
• Latency: The system may experience minor latency (message delay). Typical delays are less than 0.5 seconds on 5G networks.
• Network congestion: Poor or congested networks may introduce longer delays, but messages are delivered as soon as coverage is restored, ensuring no communication is lost even if the car temporarily loses signal.
