Communications Technician
Autotel Digital Motorsports Communications develop,
manufacture and maintain bespoke radio communications systems for use in
Motorsport. We are looking for a new member of our technical team to work in
the following areas.
Assembly and testing of race communications system based at
our Norfolk office.
Repair and maintenance of our existing systems.
Race Support for our customers at race tracks in the UK and
Europe with the possibility for more international travel. Initially this would
be on a supervised basis until capabilities improve.
A successful applicant would work as part of a small team
and be based at our Norfolk workshop, being involved in the assembly and
service and testing of our systems. We also provide trackside support in the UK
and Europe and you would be involved in this also. European support is normally
limited to around 10 events per year, this is split between engineering staff.
Weekend work will sometimes be required.
The following skills would be of benefit to a successful
applicant.
Soldering and wiring assembly.
Basic mechanical skills
Basic IT skills as the equipment is PC programmable
A basic knowledge of Radio Communications
Full clean driving licence
Good people skills and the ability to work under pressure
especially at the race circuits.
Not all of the above are essential but applicants with an
insight and willingness to learn would be beneficial.
Due to the unique nature of this business full on the job training will be given. A suitable applicant should be capable of working well as a team or on their own initiative, be comfortable with travel and weekend work, and be comfortable to meet tight deadlines.
